What is Sharma Aunty Survival?
Sharma Aunty Survival turns a familiar Indian social pressure into a speaking game. The AI character asks direct or awkward questions that can appear at a family gathering, such as questions about studies, work, plans or personal choices. Your task is not to insult the character or reveal private information. It is to give a clear answer, set a polite boundary when needed and keep enough composure to continue the conversation.
The experience is fictional and AI-generated. Sharma Aunty is a roleplay character, not a real person, teacher or professional adviser. The humour makes repetition less formal, while the pressure creates a reason to retrieve words quickly. You can use text mode to plan a response or voice mode to practise how the answer sounds. The game belongs to BolnaSeekho's wider collection of speaking activities built around recognisable situations in Indian life.
The speaking skills behind the game
An awkward question often creates two problems at once: you need English words, and you need to decide how much you want to say. A useful response separates those jobs. Start with a short direct answer, add one detail only if it helps and redirect the conversation with a question or boundary. Phrases such as “I am still deciding,” “I would rather keep that private,” and “I am focusing on my current project” let you communicate without becoming aggressive or over-explaining.
The roleplay can also help with pace and recovery. If you freeze, ask for a moment, repeat the key part of the question or use a simpler sentence. If you begin in Hinglish, finish the thought and then create a natural English version based on the meaning. This is more practical than translating every Hindi word in the same order. The objective is an understandable response that still sounds like you, not a perfect performance or a copied accent.
How to turn one round into useful practice
Choose a boundary before you start. Decide which topic you will answer openly, which topic you will redirect and which topic you will decline politely. That makes the exercise about communication choices rather than simply surviving random questions. Keep your first answer to two or three sentences. After the reply, identify whether the difficulty came from vocabulary, sentence structure, speed or the social pressure of the question.
Repeat the hardest answer with one change. Move the main point to the beginning, remove an unnecessary apology, slow the boundary phrase or add a calm question back. A score or transcript can make the game engaging, but it is only one signal. Speech recognition may mishear background noise, mixed-language speech or a name. Listen to whether your message was clear and use automated feedback as guidance rather than a fixed label of your confidence.
Respect, privacy and AI limitations
You never need to provide genuine private details to make the practice useful. Replace a company, salary, address or personal plan with a fictional placeholder while keeping the communication goal real. Do not share passwords, payment details, identity documents or information about someone else. If a generated question feels inappropriate, stop the round or practise a direct boundary instead of answering it.
AI responses can be inaccurate or insensitive, and the character's confident tone does not make its statements authoritative. Sharma Aunty Survival is not counselling and does not provide medical, legal, financial or career advice. BolnaSeekho cannot promise fluency, confidence or a particular outcome. The product gives you a repeatable roleplay; progress comes from thoughtful repetition, useful feedback and conversations with real people you trust.
A simple four-step round
Choose a boundary
Decide which topic you will answer, redirect or politely decline before the round begins.
Give the short answer first
Put the main point in the first sentence, then add only the detail that helps the listener.
Stay respectful under pressure
Use a calm boundary or a question back instead of becoming aggressive or sharing more than you want.
Replay one difficult question
Try it again with a clearer opening, steadier pace or simpler sentence structure.
Example prompts and the skill behind them
| Practice prompt | Speaking goal |
|---|---|
| Why have you not decided your next career step yet? | Give an honest short update without apologising for the entire situation. |
| Tell me exactly how much you earn. | Set a courteous privacy boundary and redirect to a safer topic. |
| Your friend is doing better. What are you doing? | Avoid the comparison, name your present focus and keep the reply calm. |
Before you finish
- Your first sentence answers or sets a boundary clearly.
- You share only information you are comfortable using in an AI roleplay.
- You keep the response respectful without surrendering your privacy.
- You treat automated feedback and transcripts as imperfect signals.
- You repeat the hardest question with one deliberate improvement.
Use the roleplay, keep your judgment
Keep examples truthful, protect private information and repeat the response that matters. The practice is a rehearsal, not a verdict on your English.
